Let’s be honest: most CNC pallet automation options on the market feel like they were built for giant production lines and aerospace factories—not the everyday machine shop trying to get more spindle hours out of their UMC500 or UMC750.

That’s exactly why we built IntraLoad™ , a zero-footprint, in-machine CNC pallet pool designed specifically for 5-axis CNC automation on machines like the Haas UMC500, UMC750, and UMC1000.

If you're tired of choosing between high-cost Haas Pallet Pools or the floor-hogging Haas Robot Pallet Loader (RPL) , IntraLoad offers a smarter, leaner path to lights-out machining—no robot, no added footprint, and no six-figure price tag.

What Is IntraLoad?

IntraLoad is a compact CNC pallet cell system that turns your 5-axis mill into a fully automated pallet pool UMC —without changing how you run your programs.

Unlike traditional 10+1 pallet or 20+1 pallet systems that require external robotics or integration with the Haas RPL, IntraLoad installs inside the machine. It uses your spindle as a robot—loading and unloading pallets using a gripper tool and in-machine shelving.

In short: It’s a UMC pallet pool that fits your workflow, your floorplan, and your budget.

Why We Built It

At Gimbel Automation, we’ve lived the same frustrations most shops deal with:

  • Your UMC-500 pallet cycles run fast—but you're stuck reloading every 10–15 minutes.

  • Your operator can’t run multiple machines because they’re babysitting setups.

  • You’ve looked at a Haas pallet pool , and then looked again at the price tag.

We wanted something simpler. Something built for the realities of small- to mid-sized job shops. So we flipped the model:

Instead of building a robot to serve your machine, why not let the machine serve itself?

How It Works

Here’s the idea behind IntraLoad:

  • We install an IntraShelf™ racking system inside your Haas UMC enclosure.

  • Each shelf holds a Pierson Max-4 zero-point pallet —repeatable to ±0.0002”.

  • You load a gripper tool into the spindle, just like a regular tool.

  • The CNC spindle becomes your robot, using air-actuated motion to grab, place, and release pallets.

The result? An internal 5-axis pallet pool with zero added floor space, powered entirely by standard G-code and M-codes—no PLCs, no fences, no integrator required.

Compatible Machines & Configurations

IntraLoad is purpose-built for:

  • Haas UMC-500 – Compact 5-axis mills benefit most from footprint-neutral automation.

  • Haas UMC-750 – Whether Gen 1 or Gen 3, we offer shelving to support 9–16 pallets depending on Z-clearance.

  • Haas UMC-1000 – Larger format machines can support expanded configurations for heavier payloads or larger workpieces.

We support setups from simple 10+1 pallet layouts to larger-scale 20+1 pallet equivalents—all inside the enclosure.

If you're running a Haas Robot Pallet Loader (RPL) or considering one, ask yourself: Do I actually need a robot, or just a better way to load parts?

What Makes IntraLoad Different?

Here’s why IntraLoad stands out in the crowded world of CNC pallet pools:

  • ✅ Zero-footprint – No external robot or cell required.

  • ✅ Lower cost – Starts at under $20k. Fully turnkey systems under $50k.

  • ✅ Simple integration – Uses standard CNC code and air connections.

  • ✅ Fast ROI – Many customers recover costs in under 6 months.

  • ✅ Expandable – Add shelves, pallets, or part-flipping as you grow.

It’s Haas pallet automation, minus the robot and the complexity.

What Shops Are Saying

We’ve seen shops go from running batches of 3–4 parts to running 16-pallet lights-out cycles on their UMC-750 pallet machines. One shop told us they used to need a second operator just to keep up with setups—now they’re handling three machines solo, with better spindle utilization and fewer interruptions.

In another case, a team running UMC-500 pallet jobs replaced a high-mix robot cell with IntraLoad and saw a 2x improvement in throughput—without reprogramming a single part.

Is IntraLoad Right for You?

If you’re running:

  • A UMC-500, UMC-750, or UMC-1000

  • Short- to mid-run jobs (1–100 pcs)

  • High-mix, low-volume parts

  • Manual loading with idle time between cycles

...then IntraLoad might be the easiest, most cost-effective upgrade you’ll make this year.

Final Thoughts

We built IntraLoad because we wanted CNC pallet automation that made sense for real-world shops—not just Fortune 500 factories. If you’ve looked at 5-axis pallet pool systems and felt overwhelmed, priced out, or just underwhelmed by complexity, IntraLoad offers a refreshingly simple solution.

Whether you're quoting higher-volume jobs or just want to stop babysitting your UMC pallet pool, there’s a smarter way forward.

Automation shouldn’t be out of reach. With IntraLoad, it isn’t.

Frequently Asked Questions

What machines is IntraLoad compatible with?

IntraLoad is currently compatible with the Haas UMC-500, UMC-750, and UMC-1000 series. Whether you're running a UMC500 pallet, UMC750 pallet, or UMC1000 pallet setup, IntraLoad is designed to fit inside your machine enclosure without requiring external automation cells.

How many pallets can the IntraLoad system hold?

Typical IntraLoad configurations range from 9 to 24 pallets, depending on machine size and Z-clearance. It's an ideal alternative to traditional 10+1 pallet and 20+1 pallet systems—without the robot arm or added floor space.

How does IntraLoad compare to the Haas Pallet Pool or Haas RPL?

The Haas Pallet Pool and Haas Robot Pallet Loader (RPL) are great for large-scale operations but can be costly and space-intensive. IntraLoad offers similar benefits—unattended machining, quick pallet swaps, and 5-axis productivity—at a fraction of the cost and zero added footprint.

Does IntraLoad require robot programming or external integration?

Nope. IntraLoad is designed to run entirely from your CNC’s standard G-code and M-code. If you know how to call a tool and move XYZ, you can run IntraLoad. It’s CNC pallet automation made simple.
