Browse our complete line of CNC grippers engineered for automated part loading. Each spindle gripper mounts directly in your tool holder and uses the machine's spindle to pick, place, and flip parts automatically. Choose from parallel gripper models with mechanical jaws for positive part clamping, or GimVac™ vacuum grippers for handling parts with flat surfaces. All systems feature precision parallel gripper jaws or suction cups designed for repeatable, high-cycle part tending in CNC milling and turning applications.

A CNC spindle gripper is an automated part-handling device that mounts in your CNC machine's spindle, just like a cutting tool. Instead of machining, it picks up raw parts, loads them into your workholding, and removes finished parts—all without operator intervention. Spindle grippers enable lights-out machining by automating the loading and unloading cycle.
A parallel gripper uses two opposing jaws that move in parallel to clamp parts mechanically. Parallel gripper jaws provide positive grip on cylindrical, rectangular, or irregular shapes. Vacuum grippers (like GimVac™) use suction to hold parts with flat surfaces. Choose parallel grippers for heavier parts or shapes without flat surfaces; choose vacuum grippers for thin, flat, or delicate workpieces.
GimGripper™ CNC grippers are compatible with most CNC mills and lathes that have through-spindle air (TSA) or through-spindle coolant (TSC). We offer models for CAT40, BT40, BT30, HSK, and other common spindle tapers. For machines without TSA/TSC, our FloLink™ system enables spindle gripper functionality using an external air connection.
Standard GimGripper4™ parallel grippers handle parts up to 10 lbs, while High Force models grip parts up to 40 lbs. Parallel gripper jaws are available in multiple configurations to match your specific part geometry. GimVac3™ vacuum grippers handle parts up to 25 lbs depending on surface area and suction cup selection.
Yes, but it's simple. Spindle grippers are programmed using standard G-code, just like any other tool in your magazine. Pick-and-place motions are just coordinated moves to known positions. Gimbel Automation provides programming templates and our Programmer tool generates ready-to-use code for common CNC gripper operations.
